Becoming good at on line poker; where to start?
First, the purpose of this writing and your reading of it, should not really be for you to make millions of dollars or turn you into a poker “pro”. The goal is not or you to quit your job and live in the lap of luxury due to your incredible poker proficiency. If a poker instructional promises this, don’t bother reading it, because the author is not being honest.
The purpose of this writing is to share my experience with Internet poker and give you the ability to become BETTER than you are now. There is no “secret” formula that will make you win every tournament you enter or make you a monster at every cash table you play. But there are quite a number of trips, hints, strategies and methods of play that will significantly improve your game and your bankroll at the same time.
My other goal in writing this book is to share some of my knowledge and expertise on the INTERNET game of Texas Hold’em. You have probably noticed that everyone and their grandmother has written a book on winning at Texas Hold’em. What nearly all of these authors fail to address is specifics for the game as it is played on the internet. The internet is a different animal in a lot of ways from games that you will find in bricks & mortar establishments. Obviously, some of the knowledge crosses over, but there are plays and techniques that I use in internet play that I would never use in live play and vice-versa.
My goal was to create a guide that addresses these differences and gives you, the reader, the ability to succeed at the internet game. As a side bonus you will become adept enough at playing Texas Hold’em to cross over to games in live casinos in Vegas and across the country if you so choose.
