6 Month Extension to UIGEA

Good news for online poker players, the impending implementation of the UIGEA regulations has been delayed for 6 months. So, the December 1st deadline has been backed off, and lets hope that this ridiculous law will be done away with before it is actually implemented.

Senator Barney Frank is expected to make the announcement today and it has been confirmed by the U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. The law was designed to make it difficult for banks to deposit or accept money from online gaming sites. Now is the time to write/email/call your congressman in support of online poker. We have a 6 month window to make sure this law does not go into effect.
