As much as I like 7 Card Stud and Stud/8, I had to really step back and consider both games before I even decided to write these guides. Both games are very niche oriented and nearly a thing of the past. You won‘t find stud games in casinos anymore and even online, it is hard to find much for 7-card stud or stud h/l (keep in mind stud/8 and stud h/l are the same game and I will refer to them using both terms in the ebook) games either in cash games or tournaments. Still, both games are WSOP bracelet events and both games are a part of H.O.R.S.E so I think there is value in learning how to play them well. I believe that there is value in any poker game that you can be more adept at than the majority of your opponents and even if you have to go to some trouble to find a game, it is worth it if you can make money.
With that in mind, let‘s delve into both 7-card stud and 7-card stud/8 with an open mind and even if you don‘t end up a lifelong aficionado, you will at least gain a greater appreciation and understanding of both games.
