These days there is a lot of poker instruction available. You can read books, watch videos, view live streaming, attend poker camps, etc etc. You may learn something and you may not. Chances are you will pick up little tidbits here and there and you may or may not integrate them into your poker game. You might even see some results. However, trying to improve your poker game in a helter-skelter manner is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. There are better ways than just randomly flailing around and that is where I come in.
I offer individual, one on one poker coaching. I have been doing so for a number of years now and I need it based on the need of poker players that I came into contact with. After writing my first book I was asked if I taught poker as well. When I thought about it, I figured that if I can adequately write about it, I can certainly put together some programs that will improve a player’s poker game.
But, here’s the thing: it works because I tailor ALL my poker instruction to each individual player. Think about it. If you take a golf lesson, will you learn more in a group with 10 other golfers all being taught generic information by one instructor, or would you benefit more working one on one with a pro to strengthen YOUR game and utilize and enhance the traits that YOU excel at? I can tell you that not every golfer uses the same grip that works for Nicklaus and Jim Furyk’s swing will never look the same as Tiger Wood’s. That is a fact. So it is with poker and individual poker players.
I have had many students who have been to poker camps and not felt that they got a lot out of it. It’s not a knock on these camps (ok, maybe it kind of is!) but the fact is that you will learn more quickly and easily when you have someone devoting time to your individual needs and questions. Every student I take on I quiz and interview before hand to identify strengths and weaknesses and figure out how I can improve YOUR game in the formats that YOU play in the most. I don’t regurgitate information that is readily available and that you already know. I assume that you already know how to C-bet. (continuation bet) What I do is show you when and why you need to C-bet and when and why not to. Along with a ton of other things. My 100-point tea
My job as a professional poker instructor is to make the ‘light bulb’ come on for YOU and that entails teaching just a little differently based on the individual. One thing I can tell you is that my poker coaching will be fits for you and I will not try and stuff you into the same box as other poker players. However, you are already out of this generic ‘poker box’ by even seeking me out. I don’t teach for cheap and most players hire me for one to two or even three days of intensive training. It is not the same old, same old and I will improve your poker game and you will see it in your bottom live.
